Why We Started BIB

At Bruhaspathi Institute of Biosciences (BIB), we saw a growing need for quality education and hands-on training in bioinformatics. While the field of life sciences is rapidly evolving, many students and professionals struggle to bridge the gap between biology and computational science.

Our Tutors

Dr Neelima Chitturi

Dr. Neelima Chitturi is a distinguished bioinformatics expert with over 15 years of experience, encompassing 8 years of research in transcriptomics and 7 years in genomics.
She earned her Ph.D. in bioinformatics through a collaborative program between IIIT-Hyderabad and IBAB-Bangalore, focusing on transcriptomics. A gold medalist from the University of Madras, Dr. Chitturi’s core work involves identifying DNA polymorphisms and genetic predispositions to diseases.
Beyond her research, Dr. Chitturi is passionate about teaching, offering instruction in programming and bioinformatics analysis.
She has also contributed to the scientific community through publications.
As the founder of Bruhaspathi Institute of Biosciences (BIB), Dr. Chitturi aims to bridge the gap between biology and computational science. Her vision for BIB is to provide high-quality training and research opportunities in bioinformatics, making complex concepts accessible through simple, practical teaching methods.

I had a great time doing an internship at Bruhaspathi Institute of Biosciences under the guidance of Dr. Neelima Chitturi. It was a really good learning experience where I got hands-on training in development of a variant identification pipeline. I did the internship from home as they provided a server. I especially enjoyed working with tools like FastQC, BWA, GATK, and VEP. Neelima ma'am was very supportive and explained things clearly whenever I had doubts. I'm thankful for her guidance and the opportunity to be part of this program.
